![]() ![]() Drag the prograde to aproximately the deltaV needed: the apoapsis of the highly elliptical orbit should be touching the other planet's orbit. deltaV and ejection angle.ĭrop a maneuver node approximately where the optimum ejection angle is. There are really only two variables in this. Sometimes I put a real protractor up to the screen. I usually trim for collision (tsk tsk what if the engine failed? ) and then set my final periapsis when I get close. Granted, it would be nice to know ahead of time which side of the planet the periapsis is at. I have always needed to invest more than 50% of the normal budgeted deltaV into a "mid-course" correction (actually rather "barely-outside-of-Kerbin-influence" correction). Sofar, even though I give meticulous care to follow its instructions not a single intercept was suscessfull (Jool, Duna, Dres, Moho). And how the hell do you guys put up with that piece of shit called Protractor? ![]() Why do the devs staunchly refuse to give us any numbers? Space flight is all about the numbers. ![]()
